Treatment for Blackheads
Blackheads can be very unsightly and they can be difficult to get rid of if you don’t have the right kind of treatments. But acne doesn’t have to be difficult and frustrating. Knowing what causes acne and understanding the different types makes treatment easier and faster.
Blackheads are different from whiteheads. Blackheads are still pores that get clogged with oil, dead skin cells, dirt and bacteria. But the main difference with blackheads is that the opening of the pore is larger and has a chemical reaction to the air and sunlight resulting in oxidation of melanin. The melanin makes the pore dark and is where you get the name blackhead.
Scrubbing excessively doesn’t help and it is a myth that blackheads come from dirty skin. It is simply a pore opening that is larger than other skin pores. But you can make home remedies for blackheads that won’t irritate the skin.
Home Treatment for Blackheads
To clean out blackheads mix 1 cup of hot water, 1 teaspoon of Epson salt and 4 drops
of iodine. After mixing all the ingredients well let the mixture cool in the fridge.
Using a cotton-
Using a facial scrub 3 to 4 times a week is very successful at getting rid of blackheads. Make a facial scrub with 2 to 3 tablespoons of honey, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, 2 to 3 tablespoons of chopped oatmeal and add some crushed aspirin. The lemon juice and aspirin are powerful antibacterial and cleansing agents. Honey will keep your skin smooth and doubles as an astringent. The oatmeal is a perfect exfoliate and helps get rid of excess oil. Cleanse your skin gently and rinse off with warm water. This will help to unclog the blackheads.
Best Treatment for Blackheads
The main problem with blackheads is the size of the pore opening, and benzoyl peroxide can have an effect of the size of the opening making it smaller and can help reduce the plugging that makes the blackheads.
Use products that contain tretinoin. Tretinoin is a form of vitamin A, which helps your skin heal faster and can help prevent blackheads from occurring. Tretinoin can also clean out the pore more effectively and you won’t have blackheads anymore.
Use creams that contain AHA’s, or Alpha Hydroxy Fruit Acids, also known as glycol creams. These creams can clean away dead skin cells making it easier to clean out blackheads. These creams shouldn’t be used every day but every other day.
Even when all blackheads are gone the chance is high that they can come back because it is the size of the pore than makes it more susceptible to getting infected and turning into a blackhead. Continue treatment a few times a week even if you are clear of blackheads. Continuing treatment will ensure that the blackheads can’t come back you won’t have to worry about unsightly blackheads anymore.
