Treatment for Back Acne

Having acne on your face is very frustrating, but also having it on your back can make things much worse. It is harder to clean the back area, get rid of pimples and prevent breakouts in the back.

Acne doesn’t affect just the face, but it can affect the entire body, even the back. The back has thousands of sebaceous glands, and every gland can make the oil that skin needs. When the body makes too much of this oil it can clog the pores with dirt, dead skin cells and even bacteria causing a pimple. The back often produces too much oil and breakouts can occur often.

Letting your skin breathe is important. Wearing clothes that are made of fabrics that don’t let the skin breathe can lead to back acne. Also wearing clothes that are too tight will trap the oils onto the skin and cause acne. Having anything on your back like long hair or wearing backpacks can lead to acme if the back isn’t properly cleaned.

Home Treatment for Back Acne

By keeping things off of your back like hair or wearing loose clothing will help your skin to breathe and the oil produced on your back won’t clog up the pores as often. But you can’t treat back acne the same as acne on your face. The skin on your back is thicker than the skin on your face and requires a different treatment for acne.

• To get rid of acne, put some toothpaste on the acne before going to bed. Leave it on all night and wash it off in the morning. The toothpaste will diminish the size of the pimple, reduce irritation and make the pimple heal faster.

• To exfoliate the skin on your back use a loofah while you shower. While showering use a cleanser that is made of natural ingredients. Crush some aspirin into a fine powder – aspirin is high in salicylic acid and is a powerful cleansing agent against acne, mix the aspirin powder with some aloe vera or honey to help keep your skin from drying out. You can add some oatmeal for help scrub and exfoliate the skin but the loofah will work just fine. Massage the mixture on your back for a few minutes and rinse off with warm water.

Best Treatment for Back Acne

Try washing your back thoroughly with a loofah; too often the back doesn’t get properly cleaned and because of the hard to reach areas. Shower often especially after doing activities where your back can get sweaty and dirty such as working out.

Use products that contain salicylic acid, a powerful cleanser, or glycolic acid. If your skin isn’t sensitive or dry you can even try products that contain benzoyl peroxide. Creams that contain benzoyl peroxide should be left on the skin and let your skin completely dry, the cream can stain your clothes if it isn’t dried completely. Don’t put the cream on your entire back since it can dry out easily; only put the cream on the areas affected by acne.

Taking proper care of your back will reduce back acne. Remember that what you wear and what touches your back can lead to acne. Take care to wear clothes that won’t irritate your skin and wash your back every day.
